Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to undertake their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Audiences can expect learning which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
